Terrestrial Globe with Compass
Petrus Kaerius (1571-1646), brother-in-law of Hondius, issued several celestial and terrestrial globes for Petrus Plancius, an Amsterdam theologian and cartographer. It's interesting that the copper plate originals were bought by Joan Blaeu in 1668, who was to become one of the most renowned globe and map makers in 17th C. Dutch history.
